PlanScan is a computer-aided imaging solution designed specifically for dental restoration. This technology allows us to go above and beyond the average crown creation method by relying on intraoral scanning. Intraoral scanning involves holding a laser scanning wand near the location where your crown will be placed. We then take the scan of your mouth moving the scanning wand over the preparation and adjacent teeth, and the technology creates a 3-Dimensional “impression” of your tooth down to the last detail. The scan can be completed within seconds in many instances. 

Since your scan is done digitally, we can instantly see the image and send it anywhere within our clinic or we can share it with any partner through a secure internet connection. Some intraoral scanning technologies need contrast powder applied to the inside of the client’s mouth to take a more accurate image.
