Brandi

Brandi has worked as a dental hygienist at DDS since 2005.  Graduating from Indiana University Northwest in 2000.   She lives in Crown Point with her husband and 2 daughters.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, sports, traveling and volunteering at her children’s school.

Brandi has significant experience in the dental hygiene field and is the head of the hygiene department at DDS.   She is dedicated to providing her patients with the most current education and technology.   Technology has changed over the years and made dentistry more exciting for myself and patients by improving quality, putting greater emphasis on prevention that will translate into fewer cavities and less periodontal disease and shorter treatment times.  One of the biggest tools we recommend today is the power toothbrush.   At first it might feel strange, but the Oral B makes brushing easier which helps to maintain oral hygiene and prevent plaque or cavities.  Brandi enjoys visiting the local schools to teach children about dental health.   The Intra-Oral and Cari-Vu Camera has been another game-changer in dentistry.  It allows the patient to see what I see in their mouth.  The Cari-Vu uses non-ionizing radiation but uses trans-illumination technology to see cavities and cracks, making it ideal for children and pregnant women.   The Piezo Scaler has revolutionized periodontal therapy by decreasing patient time, providing a higher level of patient comfort, more efficient removal of plaque and calculus, less tissue trauma and decreasing our hand and wrist fatigue.  Technology is amazing, but in and of itself, it is only a tool wielded by a knowledgeable user.

We at DDS value technology, but we value the relationships we create and foster using our skill, technology, personality, and one on one mentality to create an ideal environment for the patient.   I am so excited to see what else is developed over the next decade and am excited to share it all with you!
